Crochet Motif Bucket Hat Recipe – How to Make a Knit Bucket Hat?
WELCOME to the motif section of our series on the Recipe Fairies Blog!
Would you like to knit a bucket hat using 6 motifs? I am here with a model that is both easy to knit and useful.
I knitted with these colors because I think blue and brown tones look great together. You can also choose the tones you like. Which colors did you knit with or would you consider knitting with? You can write in the comments.
This is how it looks on the head.
Abbreviations
- SH: magic ring
- ZN: chain
- X: single crochet
- DC: double handrail
- TR: triple railing
- V: increase
- CC: slip stitch
Materials
- Cotton threads in the colors you want
- 3 mm crochet hook
Motif Making
- We will make 6 motifs measuring 9*9 cm.
Row 1: 4 times into SH (3 TR, 1 CH), CC
Row 2: After 3 CH, we repeat 4 times: TR in the next three stitches, (3 TR, 1 CH, 3 TR in the same stitch), CC.
Row 3: 3 CH, 6 TR, (to the same stitch to create a corner; 3 TR, 1 CH, 3 TR), along the 3 edges; 9 TR, (3 TR, 1 CH, 3 TR to the same stitch), make TR in the remaining three stitches and finish with CC.
Hat Hill
- Let's make two chains at the beginning of each row.
Row 1: 16 DC, CC into SH
Row 2: 16 V, CC = 32 DC
Row 3: 16 times (1 DC, 1 V) = 48 DC
Row 4: 16 times (2 DC, 1 V) = 64 DC
Row 5: 16 times (3 DC, 1 V) = 80 DC
Row 6: 16 times (4 DC, 1 V) = 96 DC
Making a Join
- We combine the motifs by taking them from the back loops in dark brown, that is, our main color, and making tight stitches. We create a motif circle.
- Let's continue from the last row of the hat and fix the motifs from one edge in order.
Visor
- After combining the motifs, let's start a new row with dark brown, our main color.
- At the end of each row, make a slip stitch and start the new row with two chains.
Row 7: Knit 96 DC without increasing.
Row 8: 16 times (5 DC, 1 V) = 112 DC
Row 9: 16 times (6 DC, 1 V) = 128 DC
Row 10: 16 times (7 DC, 1 V) = 144 DC
Row 11: 16 times (8 DC, 1 V) = 160 DC
And our hat is ready!
You can write your comments about the recipe and hat below. Did you knit it too? How long did it take to knit? What colors did you use? I'm curious.
